Craziness Rules My World

These past two to three weeks have been so busy and crazy and fun. Dixie has really been coming into her own little personality. Here are some of her updates: She has started eating cereal! She is becoming quite proficient at it too. She's figuring out how to keep it in her mouth (most of the time) and she gets excited when she sees that I'm making her some. :) She's SO CUTE! And she has also started standing! Well... not on her own or anything, but she stands if we hold her hands and each day she is getting stronger and stronger. She's also started to develop a new laugh... the Elmer Fudd laugh! Remember when I used to do that laugh too? The first time I heard her do it I about wet my pants! Anyway, I'll try and get some videos of some of these things on the My Rememberies website (since I can't figure out how to do video on this blog site) and I'll let you know when it's there. She's just a doll... I just can't get enough of her!!! Of course, yesterday was a different story... but as Mom says, "you gotta experience the bad days to appreciate the good". So we'll just mark that down as my bad day for the year. :) I seriously about had a breakdown in the middle of WalMart. After going through 3 different carts to find one that would steer right (and STILL not coming out successful) and then struggling with Dixie crying/screaming for over a half hour while I tried to do shopping in fast forward, taking a break in the car section to try and feed her a bottle to settle her, having it work for only about 2 minutes at a time, which meant stopping every 3 minutes to try and calm her again, then finally having her fall asleep in my arms, then trying to get my disfunctional cart to go in a straight line (only to have to stop every 3 seconds to kick the wheels to get it back on course) and having two employees sit there and watch me while I tried to get my dang cart to a checkout line with a sleeping baby in my arms... yeah, I about snapped. I saw it all play out in my head... me yelling at the employees to make a decent cart, or to at least offer to help push the cart, or SOMETHING... me getting hauled off to jail when I wrang their little necks... me behind bars... luckily cooler heads prevailed and I just endured my agony and held my tears in until I was at the car. Did I mention that craziness rules my world?!!!

Okay, well... here are some other updates...
Jim had a fun chance to go down to Mexico two weekends ago to go arrowhead hunting. He came back with some pretty nice points, including one perfect one that is really rare to find without it being broken because it's so thin. I can't remember the name of it though. (Did you even know that arrowheads have different names for the different types? ...I sure didn't! But I'm a Roberts now, so I'm trying to clue into these things.) :) Oh... I think it's called a perez. (But I could be way wrong.) ;) Anyway... he had a blast. And for this weekend it's, Hi-ho hi-ho, it's off to camp he goes. He left this morning to go to a three-day Boy Scout training (called Wood Badge)... on Conference Weekend, off all weekends! So I'm flying solo again. Bummer. But he got his Scout uniform yesterday and he sure looks sharp in it. :)
Speaking of sharp... you should see our new Jeep! We traded in my Honda and got a new (well, used... but NEW to us!) Jeep about two weeks ago and I love it! It's got leather interior! I feel totally spoiled in it! :) And just this past Monday we got new carpet!!! Hallelujah! I'm LOVING walking around barefoot on it. It's great! So ya... we've been really blessed lately to be able to get these little luxuries.
Here's our new Jeep!

And here's Dixie on our new carpet :)

We love you all and hope all is going well with you! Happy October!!! From, Jim, Debbie, and Dixie

Debs-
So lame of me not to read this until today! Me and the boys are here all alone (for 10 days!) and I even thought of driving up to see you. But didn't want to haul my craziness up and interfere with you and Jim's alone time...if I would have only known!!! I am lame!!! We really do need to do something shortly though! I may even need a mommy get away...how bout you?? Maybe a night in Houston? or San Antonio?? Loves-shawn

Deb:
You should begin a book that you can hand down to your children's families or just keep to remember all the crazy days you had that lead to a good day. Your experiences will make you laugh a few years from now. I remember when De and Shawna pulled up all our Marigolds and the seeds we had planted right after the girls helped me plant them while we lived in Kearns, UT Denise was only 2 1/2 and Shawna was 1 1/2 years old) I took a picture of Shawna with mud on her face and in her mouth and Denise was dirty also with her white and orange shirt on and her red hair. I took them into the bathroom to clean them up. Now, I see that picture and laugh, but then I remember being upset at the time and thinking what is wrong with my children.
