A canning website (see Fresh Preserve on the side bar) for all you faithful saints who do so well at keeping up with food storage. :) It has recipes on it for either canning or freezing things (and more), tips and step-by-step instructions on how to do everything, etc. It's great. It's getting me motivated to get my "canning act" in gear and get on the ball with food storage. :) In fact, I told Jim we should find out when specific fruits and veggies are in season, find a farm somewhere that produces that, and do road trips to go get a bunch and then we can come home and can them all. :) Apparently there's a HUGE apple farm out near Austin, so we'll be planning a fun trip out there some time. Cool, huh? Family vacation and food storage all rolled into one. :)
My other latest fun fad is to start making Dixie's baby food (see Homemade Baby Food on the side bar). It's apparently tons cheaper, and even though she's nearing the time where she'll just be eating table food, I plan to fully take advantage of this option whenever kid #2 comes along. But in the mean time, I happen to know a few pregnant ladies that may be interested in it as well. I'm not even buying any special equipment. I just use the puree option on my food processor, and there ya go!So anyway, hopefully some of the links are helpful to some of you. There's some really good kids crafts and activities on several of those (for those of you with kids and are at a loss of something entertaining to do with them), fun crafts for you, recipe ideas, etc. Just passing on the love. XOXO!!

I made most of the baby food that Stella ate and it was super easy. You save so much money by doing it that way too. I didn't do anything fancy, mostly things like peas, squash (which she loved), sweet potatoes, and even some pumpkin.
