We're On Standby

I feel like I'm in one of those "hurry up and wait" situations. I had two doctor appointments this last week. On Monday the dr told me I was dilated to 2 cm and coming along fine. He said that if we wanted to induce, we could talk about times and details next week, but there was no urgency or anticipation of this baby coming sometime before the 20th or so. Then, at my appointment on Thursday (yesterday), the dr checks me and says, "Wow... you're definitely moving right along". He told me I'm still dilated to a 2, but that I'm 60% effaced and he doesn't think I'll make it through the weekend without delivering this baby! HOLY COW! I was NOT expecting that bit of news. That was crazy. He said we'll go ahead a schedule another check-up appointment for Monday, but he doesn't think we'll need it. Again... HOLY COW!! So anyway... we have hurried to make all the final preparations for baby to come, got all her stuff out, clothes ready, hospital bag packed, etc. and now we're just playing the waiting game. I usually get woken up in the middle of the night with some pretty good contractions, but they go  away if I get up and walk around or something. So no news to share yet. BUT... I do get to have my mom out here a whole lot earlier than expected. She comes tomorrow!!! HOORAY!!! I'm not scared about trying to juggle all of this now that I know she's on her way. THANKS MOM (and DAD for letting her come early!). I love my parents. 

Okay, well... that's the update for now. You can be sure more posts and pictures will be forthcoming if the baby makes her debut, but until then... you're all on standby as well. :)
