Yesterday started and ended with tears. Morning tears were out of frustration and stress. Evening tears were out of gratitude and appreciation. Last night at about 6:45, while Jim was running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to get everything prepared for the BIG Boy Scout BBQ Brisket Fundraiser they are doing this weekend, we were suddenly inundated by people from three different families who showed up with lawn mowers, edgers, blowers, etc. and gave our yard a royal makeover. The poor lawn hadn't been mowed or anything for about two weeks (which, in the summer time here, essentially means it looked like a mini jungle) because Jim has just been so busy with work and this fundraiser, and then suddenly in swooped some angels in disguise, and within an hour we were blessed with a freshly manicured lawn. I'm aware of the two masterminds behind the plot, and even though I don't believe they read my blog, I want them to know I am truly grateful and touched. Our yard was bustling with several boys from the Young Men, dads, and a mom with her kidlets... all helping to make our yard a haven again. It really brought tears to my eyes. (And Jim later told me that he started getting choked up as well... even amidst all the craziness he was trying to deal with.) I don't know that I've ever been on the receiving end of such a wonderful and random act of service. Truly, there are angels among us.

That is so sweet! The funny thing is...you wouldn't even hesitate a moment to do that for someone...but it is an amazing feeling to be on the other side of it. What a perfect day, as well!!
Good thing the man upstairs is lookin out for you. That is so so sweet that someone saw a need and did something about it. How nice it is to be loved.
