Well, my little cutie girl, I'm short on time because I've been busy spending time with you, but a lot has happened in the last two months that I want to highlight for you...
-First, you started sitting up! This happened at exactly 6 months (July 10th). You could only sit up for a few seconds at first, but now, a month later, you are a pro! I can set you up and you will just stay there until I come get you again--provided you have toys within your reach to keep you entertained. Otherwise, you may try to lunge after something nearby and end up toppled over.
-Also, you got your first tooth! Your bottom front tooth came in on August 6th. And I think its next door neighbor is ready to pop out any time now as well. (And considering you've been teething, you are still a very pleasant and happy baby!)
-You have hardly any hair, except for a little patch on the back of your head that we affectionately call your "rat tail".
-And speaking of the back of your head, you also have a large flat area on your skull. The doctors aren't worried about it and say it will go away once you start sitting up more. I personally think it's precious and adds some personality to your gorgeous face.
-You have definitely discovered your vocal chords lately, as you thoroughly enjoy squawking randomly at the top of your lungs. I'm not sure whether it annoys other people or not, but I absolutely love it and can't get enough of it. Therefore, I never try to shush you when you break out into "song" (unless, of course, we are in church). :)
-Oh! You went on your first plane ride this last month. You, me, and Dixie went to California to visit Grandma and Grandpa Packard. You did spectacular on the plane (both there and back) and are now a seasoned flier. :)
-You've also become quite grabby. Anything you see, you will almost guaranteed attempt to grab it. This includes my hair, face, toys, and your baby food that's on your tray while I'm trying to feed you. (We've had some rather messy incidences occur when I had my back turned).
But I love watching you explore this new world. You are enjoying it so much. I love how happy you are all the time. Anyone who sees you can't help but smile because you just exude joy and sweetness. I love you so much, my sweet, sweet Summer Anne.

Love,
Mommy
