Well, this year for Halloween we were so excited to go to a big pumpkin patch I'd heard of that sounded like a lot of fun with activities, a "pick-your-own-pumpkin-right-off-the-vine" patch, corn maze, etc. (similar in my mind to Bates Nut Farm back home in Cali) and take Dixie around for some pre-Halloween fun. It's called Dewberry Farm but it's a good long drive (hour and a half or so), so when we heard of another similar sounding one that was closer (called Manna Farms), we thought, "shoot! Let's do the closer one". We went with our good friends, Steve and Ashley, and when we got to the parking lot at Manna Farms we immediately wished we could turn around and go to the other one. But since they were in complete opposite directions that was a no go. So we stayed and made the best of this little po-dunk farm. :) It was pretty cheesy and low budget and it cost $10 each to get in even though the corn maze was mudded out from rain the previous day. Okay. So we won't be doing that again next year. But we still had fun playing around on the... uh, grass? (just kidding there were still little things to do) and even went through the haunted corn maze that we later realized was not supposed to be a part of the areas we were supposed to go (Oh well!) and the important thing was, Dixie had no idea it was cheesy and lame and had a fun time. The biggest bummer, though, was that their "pumpkin patch" consisted of about 30 pumpkins total (not kidding) that were sitting on some beams in a farm type looking shed. They apparently can't grow pumpkins in their type of soil. So I'm thinking... THEN DON'T ADVERTISE THAT YOU'RE A PUMPKIN PATCH! We didn't even end up buying a pumpkin there. It was lame. But again... Dixie had fun. :)

We went there with the girls, as well. It was a couple of years ago. You didn't miss much on the corn maze. The girls had fun, I guess that's all that matters!
