Dewberry Farm

Saturday we went to the pumpkin patch at Dewberry Farm. It's probably an hour and a half drive, but it was a lot of fun and reminded me of my childhood days of going to Bates Nut Farm every year for our pumpkins. We went with two of our best friends, Steve and Ashley, and had a great time. But boy was it WARM! Luckily we had some sun hats for the girls in the car, otherwise we would have had to leave pretty early. Poor little Summer doesn't do very well in the heat. She never seems to mind it, but she gets really red (flushed- not burned) very easily and I worry that she'll just pass out! But she was a good sport and we just kept pouring water on her head. :)
Our only neglect was that we didn't get a pumpkin! :) Not that we forgot... it's just that by the time we were ready to go get one, we would have had to wait in a long line for a hay ride out to the patch (you get to pick the pumpkins right off the vine) and we were pretty pooped. So we'll go to a small local patch as Halloween gets closer instead. But here are some pictures of all the fun. :)

This is definitely going to have to be a new family tradition.
Thanks Dewberry Farm!
We'll be back!
