This Mother's Day was my favorite of any I've had so far. It was sweet, it was relaxing (mostly), and I just loved having the chance to be with my wonderful family all day.
The day started off with breakfast in bed (my first! woohoo!) when Jim and Dixie brought in my platter of a delicious omelet, toast, and fruit. Summer woke up not long after that and brought me in my chocolate milk (assisted by Daddy), and I must say I got a little teary eyed watching her walk in with her super big smile, saying 'Happy Mother's Day'. I love my children. I even got a foot rub while I ate. I LOVE my hubby! :) I got a good laugh when the girls got a little envious of my attention and demanded a foot rub of their own. :) True princesses in the making. :)
We had a laid back morning until church, enjoyed the church meetings (not to mention the chocolate all the moms got! Double woohoo!) :) and then I got the evening off from cooking, dishes, household duties while Jim took care of that all and I got to play with my girls. More foot rubs, good company, and fun times rounded out the day. I just love being a mom. Life is good.
Oh, and I also got a fun little mother's day present the day before when Jim installed a nice little addition to our garden for me:
He put in a small sprinkler system for our side yard garden so that I won't have to stand out in the heat watering our garden this summer. THANKS HONEY!!!! I Love You!! :) What a good Mother's Day!
And not to forget my own mom... who I terribly regret that I'm not physically closer to for special occasions like this to make HER breakfast in bed like we used to and give royal treatment (which she entirely deserves!), but whom I'm forever grateful to have close in my heart. My mom is the BEST example to me and my inspiration in my own efforts as a mom. She is selfless, hard working, talented, beautiful, full of life, and full of love. Every day of my life has been blessed because of her and I thank her from the bottom of my heart. I love you Mom!!
To all you other moms out there, Happy Mother's Day as well! Lotsa Loves!!

Something went terribly right this mother's day...i have heard that everyone had the best mothers day...and mine was no exception!
and...I have to agree...your mom is one of the best examples ever. i often use her as a case in point for a mom and grandma who has the perfect approach!! love ya debs!!
Thanks for those sweet thoughts Deb...but it's rightly your turn now for the royal treatment on Mother's Day...full-time mommying is a crazy demanding job. You're doing an awesome job. Kudos to Jim for making your Mother's Day special.
