A Tangled Birthday Party!

Dixie is 4! And for any of you who have seen her within the past two months, you already know this... since it is generally one of the first things out of her mouth. "Hi! I'm FOUR!" :) And yes... her birthday was nearly two months ago and I'm just now getting around to posting about it. But we've been out of town for a month of that time, so I'm cutting myself some slack. :)
Anyway, Dixie's birthday was a lot of fun. The girls got the movie "Tangled" for Easter, and ever since that time, when I would ask Dixie what kind of birthday cake she wanted, she would say, "A PUNzle cake with a BIG tower." So we decided to make it a "Tangled" birthday party. This was the first kids party I decided to do sans parents (although I was definitely grateful for the one who decided to stay and help anyway... thanks Wendy!) :) so I knew I was going to have to have everything ready in advance and be on top of my game.
I had lots of fun looking up decoration ideas and activities, and the cake was a lot of fun too.
We had a simple hot dog lunch, the girls all made their own floating lanterns (minus the 'floating' part :)), Rapunzel pictures to color, and all the while we had the movie playing in the background for the girls to watch as desired between their bouts of playing. All in all, a fun party.

The party setup...

Gift Bags (they had little paints in them because Rapunzel likes to paint)...

The Kitchen Setup (with the Floating Lanterns)...

These were part of the lunch... they're Jello cups designed to look like the boat scene in the movie. :)

The party action...

And the cake...
 {Since I didn't feel like spending 10 hours constructing a fondant tower, I just speared a dowel through the cakes and then stacked mini donuts with a cupcake and cone on top. :) Works for me and Dixie loved it!}

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DIXIE!!

OH TOO CUTE! How fun was that party:) I cannot wait to have a little princess. So so so cute. What a fun mommy you are! And Trey has been in such denial since you guys left. He is still asking where his cousins went. Texas is just too far. Oh well, 5 months isn't too long. Maybe even just long enough haha:) Miss ya my sister. xoxo.
