Anyway... her birthday celebrations were pretty mellow this year. We had just gotten back from Christmas vacation the week before (and were still working on recovering and cleaning) and there was just no time to pull together something big. But that was a-okay since she had semi-celebrations for days on end! So even though events were small, it definitely dragged out the birthday fun (something which definitely gave Dixie a bad case of 'birthday envy'!!)
That morning I taught Dixie's Joy School at our house, so all the kids had fun singing Happy Birthday to Summer and getting some treats. But that evening we just kept it to our family and had a fun time together with our little munchkin. And despite keeping it low key, she managed to collect quite some fun toys from friends and family. She sure is loved! :)
She really is such a joy. And although she's in a phase where she can definitely throw some attitude around, we sure love this little sweetheart and all her sweet snuggles.

{Summer requested a strawberry cake for her birthday, so that's what she got! Definitely not my prettiest work of art, but it sure was tasty! (and I enjoyed it a whole lot more knowing I hadn't stayed up until 2 AM to make it!! :)}
