I love Easter. Not more than Christmas, but that's only perhaps because I get to listen to Christmas music for a month (who am I kidding... 2 months at least!) :) and feel that happy glow in the air. But I love that Easter is a holiday that the world still recognizes as being about Christ. Yes... there's the Easter Bunny, but in general Easter hasn't gone through the same commercialization that Christmas has (at least in my opinion). Anyway... something that I've been doing with the girls is that when they wake up and find that their Easter baskets have been hidden, they also find a note from the Easter Bunny requesting that before they go hunt for their baskets we sit as a family and read about the real Easter story. Of course, this year, with 9AM church, we didn't actually read the story, but we discussed it quickly instead. :) And after that, the girls were off to find their baskets. It made me laugh that the first places they went to check were the same places they had found their baskets last year. Good memories. :) But alas, they had to hunt a little longer.
Summer was absolutely THRILLED to get a tutu swimming suit. She has been wanting one for months now (because Dixie has one). She squealed with delight when she found it. :)
Dixie was initially less than enthusiastic about her swimming suit. But she eventually warmed up to it (especially after Grandma started commenting on how cute it was. Thank you Grandma!) :)
And the girls also got to hunt for some more eggs that the silly Easter Bunny dropped while he was out hopping around in our back yard. (We have some good friends--the Browns-- that have come and dropped Easter eggs in our yard every Easter for the past few years. They are so dang sweet to do that. But Shhh! Don't tell the girls!) :)
And then it was off to church in their new Easter dresses from Grandma. The dresses are absolutely adorable. (THANKS MOM/GRANDMA!!)
{What precious and sweet sisters}
