NEWS FLASH

The top story in today's news is that Dixie is CRAWLING! I told Jim that life as we know it will never be the same. :)
She actually began her crawling adventures last week. She would move one knee and then the other and then she was done. And while I was excited that she was getting the concept that she needed to move her knees, she wasn't actually going anywhere, so I figured we were still safe. But then on Sunday, she got it down. She crawled across the entire living room*. And all I could do was look at everything that had suddenly become a hazard and sigh. :) So I've been trying to really baby-proof the house now, but since the kitchen is under construction that's a little hard to do. Luckily she doesn't move fast enough that I can't beat her to any dangerous objects, but I know my day is coming. :)

*We used the mail to help coax her along because she absolutely LOVES paper. She would rather play with paper than any toy, and she especially likes to try and eat it. Mmm... Fiber!
Other Dixie updates... She had her 9 month doctor appointment yesterday. She weighed in at 18 lbs 3 oz (which puts her in the 25-50th percentile for weight) and was 29 inches long (which puts her in the 75-90th percentile for height). She also got a Polio vaccination at the appointment. I hate it when she gets shots, but she handled it like a champ. She's just been a bit fussy ever since then though. But I try and give her a little extra TLC any time she gets shots, just so she knows she's loved. :)
Well, that wraps up our Dixie news update. We love you all and hope you are doing well!

FUN! I've got to figure out how to give videos onto the blog...that would open up a whole new world for me.

That is so exciting! Good for her. I was totally impressed with the sit-up video as well! Sierra is so not there yet, although, she is very close to walking. she walks around the house with one of those walking toys... thanks to my poor nannying (no tummy time) maybe she'll just be skipping the whole crawling thing. oops:)
