Another fun Friday Night Date Night found Jim and I at the Dollar Store with our friends Ashley and Steve Brown. Curious? Well, first we had a BBQ and ate some yummy food, and then we all loaded up in the Jeep (Dixie included) and headed out to the Dollar Store. Each person got $5 (Dixie not included) and had to buy things that reminded them of the reasons they love their spouse. We had a half hour to scour the store and make our purchases, then we headed home and put our presents in a gift bag to give to the other person. We took turns as couples opening up our "presents" and the spouse explained why the present reminded them of them. So for me and Jim it went a little something like this: Jim got me (1) donuts- because I love donuts! (2) a pack of red tulip bulbs- because tulips are my favorite flowers; (3) a pack of yellow tulip bulbs- because tulips are my favorite flowers :) (AND because red and yellow were our wedding reception colors); (4) a pack of Gladiolus bulbs- because... I'm not sure why these ones... just because they're pretty and I'm pretty?? :) (5) a Mind Bender puzzle- because sometimes I just bend Jim's mind (his words, not mine). :) Jim's presents were (1) a squishy football- because he's so athletic; (2) a "Snuggles" brand air freshener- because he likes to snuggle :) (3) a can of silly sting (except it was called Goofy string)- because he's so goofy; and (4) a box of Band-aids- because he always fixes my boo-boos. So there you have it. Friday Night Date Night at the Dollar Store. It was tons of fun and brought lots of smiles. :)

way good idea! i totally want to try that one out! lance always loves my cheesy dates (haha not!), but i still make him do them anyways!
