Back To Life... Back To Reality

Well, I feel like I've fallen off the face of the blogging earth. I've been trying to get so much stuff done with the new My Rememberies cards and templates that I just don't take the time to sit and write what's going on anymore. And THEN I realized yesterday that I'm spending so much dang time on the computer in general that I have totally forgotten that I have other household responsibilities... like dusting! Holy cow! My house is DUSTY! And the rooms are all in desperate need of a cleaning. Sheesh. Time to put on my Spring Cleaning hat and get to work! Okay okay... so by the time I get around to it, it's really more like this other chick-a-dee here... but I'm determined to get my house clean and organized again! I WILL BE VICTORIOUS!!! :) It's funny because I definitely feel that since I've had Dixie, I've become much more lax in the amount of dirtiness I will put up with... which is good, in a sense, so that I don't go crazy when she pulls out all the toys I just picked up, or I don't pull my hair out when I watch her dump her bowl of cereal over the side of her high chair, and then pass out when I see it splatter up the side of the wall. I've been learning tolerance and patience and how to relax. But now I worry I've gone too far in the other direction! :) So my goal is to find a necessary balance. I'm going to try and get myself organized and on a cleaning routine that will help things stay under basic control. For example... Monday is laundry day. I actually started that a little while ago and can't say that it has really stuck yet, but if I give myself a chance to start making it habit, then I think it will work out. (Laundry just happens to be one of my LEAST favorite chores... hence the difficulty in getting it done and the necessity of having an actual "laundry day"). :) One of these days definitely needs to be a bathroom day... hm, what else do I need? A dusting day, a thorough kitchen cleaning day... an office cleaning day... oh, a bedroom cleaning day for sure... uh... I can see why I gave this all up to begin with. :) One step at a time, right??! I think I need to make a chart. Okay, well... best wishes to anyone else who is getting ready for their spring cleaning as well! Feel free to share any tips you have for staying on top of disaster. :) I guess I better go get started on all this before I talk myself out of it. :)

First- you're so cute.
Second... seriously good to take things in stride with bunchkins. My philosophy is that if my kids are grown and gone and all they can remember is how mom cleaned and cooked and always wanted the house clean...I failed...If they remember all the fun we had and how they picked up and learned how to help out around the house...I'm totally stoked!
Plus...there are seasons to our lives. Right now you have a toddler and I'm sure you want more...so this phase is likely to be around for a while!!
Loves!

Glad to have you back:) I thought we lost you for a while there. Yeah, cleaning totally is a drag. I just had to do dusting too. I'm pretty good about keeping up on everything else, but somehow dusting got overlooked. Then one day I opened my eyes and said, oops, time to dust:) Love you tons!

I am all for a house cleaner, but since my budget doesn't stretch THAT far...I am too in your boat! Good luck and now I'm off to find the motivation to get going myself...not that the 10 loads of laundry aren't enough! Love ya!

I once read this quote:
"Cleaning the house while the kids are still growing is like shoveling the walk before it stops snowing." :)
I comprehend it even better now after the winter we just had!
I totally know what you mean though. I can't seem to stay on top of cleaning like I used to either. So you'll understand when you see my house in a couple weeks -right?!
So excited to see you and Dixie!
Love ya!

I love Spring and spring projects...but this year it's been more gardening than house cleaning...maybe if Kristi didn't keep me so busy with sewing projects, I'd get around to some cleaning projects, but hey, sewing is more fun anyways:-)

I know this is an older post, but I feel I'm just catching up. I can totally relate. I didn't realize how much I liked things clean until I had Gage and you can't really always have it clean with their toys but I can see it's more important to play with them and their toys than clean them
