Belated Bragging

Okay, it is WAY past time that I took a second to brag about my other cute little daughter, Dixie. It seems that Summer gets all the blogging attention these days and Dixie's achievements have been left unproclaimed. NOT that she is being neglected in the praise and attention department-- that girl wouldn't stand for it if you tried! :) However, please indulge me whilst I ruminate on her amazing accomplishments and cute personality. :)
Okay, first... this girl is incredibly smart. By the time she was 26 months (just over 2), Dixie could point out every letter of the alphabet. I'm not talking about singing the "ABC" song (she only does that in bits and pieces), but about actually seeing a letter and being able to tell you what it is. Ya... she knows ALL of them. And she can do the same thing with her numbers from 0-9! Holy cow. She can also count from 1-10 (in order)! Jim and I are constantly sitting back and just taking a deep breath and thinking, "wow". She is always coming up with some way to amaze us.
She is also becoming much better at speaking in short, but complete sentences. She's a hoot to just sit and listen to. A lot of it is still hard to understand, but I can usually tell what she's saying since it's usually something I've just said (she loves to repeat me).
She's very independent right now. She's always wanting to do things for herself. If you try and do it for her, she'll stop you and say "No! Dissie's (Dixie's) turn!"
And this girl has the energy of 50 Red Bulls! She is always on the run! She loves to be doing something... anything... although usually something mischievous. :) She is really testing her boundaries these days. She used to try and do something, look at me to see my reaction, and then if it was a bad one, she'd quickly stop. NOW she likes to try something out, won't bother to check for a reaction, and when I holler at her to stop, she pretends that I don't exist. Ah, yes... it's precious. :) She's been getting highly acquainted with "Mr. Timeout". But thankfully timeouts work well for her. She just takes a break in her room and when she comes out, she's happy and ready to play nicely again. :)
What else? Oh, she learning how to peddle her tricycle. She's pretty good at going down our driveway slope and has just started being able to peddle up the slope too!
She's very polite... always saying "thank you" when we give her something.
She has the smile of a princess, and she melts our hearts every night when she gives us bedtime kisses and says "ni-night! Love you!"
We absolutely love our little girl!

(Ha... do you like that most of these pictures are in her jammies? Hm... who are her parents and why don't they ever get her dressed?!) :)
