Tasty Fall Fun

I've decided that someday (although not likely any 'someday' soon) I'm going to start up a cake decorating business. In preparation for such a time, I'm thoroughly enjoying making cakes to put into my portfolio and trying out recipes to add to my repertoire. :)
This is the latest that I made. It's just a nice Fall theme cake. We took it to a little BYU football party we went to. The cake was a hit, which is more than I can say for the game! -ugh!
Anyway, it's a Triple Chocolate Almond cake with chocolate buttercream frosting and chocolate and hazelnut Pirouettes around the edges. Um... ya. Enough said. :)

And guess who did the gorgeous chocolate leaves in the middle? Uh, that would be my talented hubby! :) Isn't he such a stud?! :)

I am totally impressed with your cake. It looks fabulous! It sure beats my brownies with mint frosting that I took to our watching party. Either way at least we had something sweet to drown our sorrows in, right?!

Was this a "Debbie" creation, or an idea you picked up elsewhere? Awesome looking cake...I remember Jim making chocolate leaves for your wedding cake...but wow...those are impressive looking BIG maple leaves! You guys are so cute!

THIS is why I didn't vote for the "personalized" Christmas gift. Because my gift would be running against something like this. Debbie, you're amazing. "JUST a nice Fall theme cake." I would be so proud if I made something look this good!!! You are one talented woman and Jim is one talented man! You compliment each other so nicely. :) Excellent work!

Although I must add that I certainly wouldn't mind being the recipient of such talents. :)
