Oh Poop

I will mercifully refrain from posting a picture on this entry... :)
Lately Dixie has taken up a new hobby: she likes to pick the poop out of her diaper/Pull-up and put it on the floor. Then she will either take one of the pieces and come show it to me and say "poo-poo!" like she just discovered the new form of gold or she will just leave it there for me to discover (thankfully I have not had to 'discover' one by stepping in it... yet).
This has absolutely got to be the. most. disgusting. thing I have had to deal with in all my mommyhoodness. I just do not know what to do about it! I can't get her to stop! I've started putting her in time out for it now. At first I wasn't sure if I should put her in time out for something like that (I worried it may discourage potty training, etc). But I'm over it. Time out it is! But I don't know that it's even phasing her. She just likes to pull out her poop. Sick.
And now you know why I needed those words of comfort I posted earlier this morning (among other child-related drama issues). Heaven help me.

I had a friend who actually went through the same thing for a while and she finally tried duct taping the diaper. If you are trying to potty train that might be hard but I guess it's better than cleaning up poop. Or now that I said that, maybe have her help you clean it up. She does seem like a smart little girl though.

You need to go check out Aubrey's blog. I think her situation with Addilyn may be a little bit more on the disgusting side! Not to compare though...picking up your own poo is definately on my gross list!

Man, I sure feel for you! Potty training and poop outside of diapers are my least favorite parts of mommyhood!

Can't say we've ever had that happen (yet)...my kids find it really gross (they dont even like the smell)... I wish I had some gems of wisdom to share. I know Denise had this issue with Kiki for a while...honestly I can't remember how she overcame it...other than maybe age. You are more patient than most!!

I would have no idea what to do with that. You will have to let us know what you come up with in case it is ever needed!

Caution long: Sierra went through this phase. She would take off her diaper whenever she pooped in it (or peed for that matter). She did it for her parents a bunch but only twice for me. One time Trey found it and was playing in it- fantastic! The other time she did it during her nap time. By the time I went in to check on her she had smeared poop all over the carpet- DISGUSTING! She was completely naked and she had used her clothes to smear in all the poop. Oh how fun:) Her dad started putting her diaper on backwards and I started putting those uner-dress underwear things over her diapers and telling her every sternly that SHE does not take off her diaper. If she wants to go poopoo she tells KRISTI to take off her diaper. After a little while she seemed to just grow out of it (although it wasn't too long ago, so I hope she's over it). Good luck. I feel your pain. In that same week of Sierra poop incidents Trey also pooped in the bathtub for the first time. I cleaned up DISGUETING poop messes THREE TIMES in ONE WEEK! I feel ya my sista. Hang in there. I love you:)

Ha! I feel for you. Having dealt with my share of poop lately, I will give you advice from Ben. He got on the internet and looked up all sorts of scary pictures of germs and viruses and then showed them to Trevin and Chase to teach them that these were in poop and will bite you and make you sick if you touch your poop. It has been very effective for Chase.
