Okay. We're finally doing it. We are making Dixie quit her pacifier (Soothie) 'cold turkey'! We started about a week and a half ago and it's really not as painful as I thought it would be. Granted, it hasn't been a piece of cake, but there haven't been as many meltdowns as I anticipated. (That's always a plus.) :) The first and second days were the hardest, naturally, especially at nap time and bed time which is when she ALWAYS had a soothie. One thing we found to help there is to give her a sippy cup of water, so she at least has something to suck on for a bit, but she can't keep it in her mouth. So anyway, after the first two days she would still ask for it ("Soo? Soo?") but there wasn't major drama when I told her she was a big girl and didn't need it. Anyway, we're on Day 9 and going strong. Granted, she has found things to substitute for her pacifier... like in the car she now likes to pull off her shoes and socks and suck on her toe. Not even kidding. I know. Gross. Um... time to go back to the Soothie?! :)

Oh Debbie..I remember those days and look forward to doing it again.. Hang in there.
Hey way to go! My only advice- don't go back!!! Sierra's parents took her off and then they all got sick and didn't want to deal with her and so they put her back on, and then she was more addicted thane EVER. So stay strong:) I love you!!!
