Happy Birthday Summer!

I've spent a lot of today reminiscing about this same day 2 years ago. It started off with a big splash (literally... when my water broke) and ended with me holding a precious angel from heaven. And here we are, 2 years later, with that same sweet angel from heaven who has lighted our lives more than we could have ever possibly imagined.

Summer Anne is such a character. She always has us laughing at her antics.  She is so full of energy and fun. She's almost always got a smile on her face. She's my little snuggle bug who will let me just sit and cuddle with her in the peaceful moments of the day. She's an independent spirit who loves learning and exploring and is wanting to do more and more on her own. She's incredibly bright and can carry on a conversation just about as well as her older sister. (It really is amazing!)
She loves to sing and her favorite song is probably "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star", although she has 'Happy Birthday' down pat as well as a few others, like 'I Am A Child of God'.

She loves to read and will not pass up the chance to sit in my lap and enjoy a good book. She can even finish the sentences for me on her favorite books (particularly with nursery rhymes).

Right now she is into all things Dora as well as Max and Ruby. She loves to be outdoors and active. She enjoys riding her bike, playing in the sandbox, going to the park, swinging, and just having fun.
She enjoys playing with Dixie but loves her solo time as well.
Some of her funny quirks include: eating hearty in the morning, but barely even nibbling in the evening (dinner is a definite chore to get her to eat); when she dances she loves to turn in a circle with one arm raised up like a chicken wing (totally hilarious); generally gives us a run for our money when it's time to brush teeth; and she has become VERY attached to her orange blanket (which, interestingly enough, was actually my baby blanket as well). Forget nap time or bedtime without it and if anyone else tries to use it, she'll give you a pterodactyl scream until you give it back. Actually, she uses the pterodactyl scream just about any time she's frustrated with you. So precious. :)
We love our Summer Anne so so much. We simply cannot imagine our lives without her. She is such a joy and we look forward to every day and the new adventures  they bring.
