"Christmas At The Square"

While Daddy was out of town in the hill country, the girls and I packed up and headed up to Gree-Gree and PaPaw's for the day to enjoy 'Christmas At The Square' in the little town of Coldspring, TX. It's something the town does every year with the town square blocked off, and vendors lining the streets with goodies to sell, performances constantly going, Santa in the gazebo, and a little carnival area for the kids to enjoy. :) We had a great time! And Mom Roberts also sang in a Community Christmas Choir Program that they held at the local church right there in town. But I think the girls were a little restless by that time and were not sitting very quietly. And, of course, we happened to be right smack in the middle of the long pews, so every time they needed to 'go potty' or started crying out for a drink of water it meant we had to crawl across a bunch of people. Ugh. I put up with it until the concert started and then when they did it again during the concert, I made us sit out in the foyer instead (which of course brought more tears from Dixie that she couldn't sit with PaPaw). But the music was gorgeous and very inviting of the Christmas spirit. It was a fun day.

PaPaw bought the girls these cute hats. They absolutely love them! (And they sure made the girls easy to spot!) :)

He also got us tickets to ride on some of the rides at the carnival...

And Dixie was so thrilled to get to sit on Santa's lap and have a chat with him (although I ran out space on my memory card just a bit into the fun- ugh), but Summer wanted nothing to do with the jolly man. Maybe next year. :)

We had such a wonderful time. Thank you so much Gree-Gree and PaPaw for the fun Christmas memories!! :) We love you!
