It's Sunday, we're home from church, we've eaten our lunch/dinner and are settling into various activities. Then Dixie comes into the family room in her swimsuit and hands me Summer's swimsuit and is asking me to untangle the straps. After explaining to me that they're trying to get the ground wet outside in order to do something or other, I hand the swimsuit back to her and tell her this isn't a Sunday activity. She pushes the swimsuit back at me to fix and starts begging and pleading her cause, and Summer (in the background...and naked, I might add) is pleading the cause as well.
Finally I say, "Why don't you pray to Heavenly Father and see what He says?" To which Dixie takes the swimsuit and heads outside.
Fairly confident they were just going to ignore me, I sneaked a peak onto the back patio where I saw our naked little Summer sitting against the bench with her arms folded and I can hear words coming out of her mouth (although I couldn't tell what she was saying). I was impressed that she was actually praying about it, and was giving myself a silent pat on the back for the good parenting/teaching moment.
Then she pops up and says to Dixie, "We can do it. He said 'Yes'."
Oh heavens. I couldn't stop laughing. Well, it was worth a shot anyway, right? :)
