Disappointed. Depressed. Nervous. Hopeful. Fearful. Excited. Optimistic. Happy. Content.
It's all a mix of emotions I've been feeling over the past 24 hours.

I'm so incredibly disappointed with the health care bill that passed last night. It's really depressing to realize the path that our country is headed down. Our freedoms are being stripped away right under our noses. We are becoming a country whose people's choices are going to be controlled by the government. It's a very slippery slope and I'm very nervous about where each of our next steps will take us. I'm hopeful that there's some way for us to pull out of it, but I'm fearful that depending on when all these rules kick in, Jim may be back out of a job again (since the national company that just hired him back on does not want to include insurance as a part of hiring him... which we were fine with and planned to just get our own, but if they're going to be forced to give health insurance, they may just say 'forget it' and let him go again).

I'm excited because it's spring! We've planted a garden (well, most of it so far anyway), and I'm optimistic that we'll have a good crop this year. We (and by 'we' I mean 'Jim') built some raised planter boxes (roughly 4x4) and have them filled with good soil, so we're thinking we should finally be able to get something to grow in our humble little garden. (We have not had very much success the past 2-3 years). But you can feel the newness of life, General Conference is just around the corner, and there's just something to be said about looking at two cherries forming a heart that's gotta make you smile. :)
And finally, I'm happy and content for two big (well, little really) reasons.
1 and 2:
Oh how much I love my life! I am so blessed!
Happy Spring to you all!

i love gardens! and can't wait until i have my own place to plant one. i like the zen gardens with japanese maples, rocks, moss, and bridges with small fountains and rice paper screens. some day...
as for the health care stuff, particularly because i'm married to a liberal democrat, i've learned to not get too worked up about the things i can't control. i can vote and voice my opinion but these kinds of things are out of my hands so i just pray that the lord will guide the leaders of our country and that's all i can do. that's my opinion anyway, so i'm voicing it. haha.
Keep speakin up about your opinions because apparently we aren't speaking loud enough! Times have changed FOR SURE!
